Senior Business Analyst Healthcare (Contract)

Industry: Healthcare

Type: 6 Month Contract (possibility for extension or conversion)

Location: Philadelphia, PA - Hybrid (Mostly Remote; local candidates preferred for occasional on site work)

Position Overview

The Senior Business Analyst supports organizational change initiatives by defining business needs, recommending solutions, and contributing to project management activities. This role leads requirements gathering, documentation, testing support, and process improvement efforts across multiple strategic and operational projects. The analyst partners closely with stakeholders to enhance project delivery quality and ensure alignment with institutional goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage business case components, requirements elicitation, analysis, communication, testing, and training.
• Facilitate development and implementation of strategic and support plans.
• Lead RFP activities including functional requirements, vendor scorecards, scoring criteria, demo scenarios, and scoring results.
• Support measurement activities to evaluate project effectiveness, ROI, and other success metrics.
• Deliver requirements, business/use cases, documentation, test plans, test scripts, and approval workflows.
• Support process improvement initiatives including process flow charts, value stream mapping, and related documentation.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and project teams to improve project and program delivery quality.
• Assist with project documentation management based on project needs.
• Promote and educate stakeholders on relevant methodologies and processes.
• Participate in ongoing learning related to business analysis, project management, and stakeholder engagement.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of business analysis experience.
• Advanced knowledge of BABOK guidelines.
• Advanced proficiency in business analysis techniques and principles.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
• Intermediate knowledge of PMBOK guidelines.
• Intermediate knowledge of change management principles.
• Intermediate knowledge of healthcare/research operations and systems .
• Intermediate knowledge of risk management principles.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• 7+ years of business analysis experience overseeing medium to large complex projects.
• 3+ years of project management experience in small to medium initiatives.
• 3+ years of experience in healthcare, research, or academic environments.

Education

Required:

• Bachelor's degree

Preferred:

• Advanced degree in healthcare, healthcare IT, business administration, management, or related field

Certifications

Preferred:

• CBAP (IIBA)
• PMI PBA
• PMP
• CAPM
• ASQ Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
