ROVING TUB & TILE REFINISHING TECHNICIAN

Pan American Properties is seeking a skilled, detail-oriented Tub & Tile Refinishing Technician to join our roving Maintenance & Renovations team serving apartment communities throughout the Orange County and Long Beach region .

If you know how to take a worn, damaged, or outdated surface and give it a clean, professional new finish, we want to hear from you.

This is a hands-on specialty role focused on reglazing, resurfacing, repairing, and refinishing bathtubs, shower surrounds, countertops, vanities, sinks, fiberglass, acrylic, and other applicable surfaces within our multifamily apartment communities.

We're looking for someone who takes pride in their craftsmanship, understands that great refinishing starts with great preparation, and can independently manage assigned jobs from prep through final inspection.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Tub, Tile & Surface Refinishing

• Reglaze and refinish bathtubs.
• Refinish shower walls, surrounds, and other bathroom surfaces.
• Refinish countertops, vanities, sinks, and other applicable surfaces.
• Repair and restore fiberglass and acrylic surfaces.
• Complete refinishing projects in both vacant and occupied apartment homes .
• Restore worn or damaged surfaces to achieve a clean, durable, professional appearance.

Surface Repair & Preparation

A great finish starts with great prep. You'll be responsible for preparing each surface properly before coatings are applied, including:

• Repairing chips, cracks, scratches, stains, and other surface damage.
• Cleaning, sanding, stripping, masking, and priming surfaces as needed.
• Removing or protecting fixtures and surrounding areas before beginning work.
• Identifying existing surface conditions and determining the appropriate repair and refinishing process.
• Ensuring surfaces are properly prepared for strong adhesion and a long-lasting finish.

Coating & Finishing

• Apply primers, coatings, finishes, and refinishing products according to manufacturer specifications and company standards.
• Use professional application techniques to produce smooth, consistent finishes.
• Match colors and finishes when required.
• Inspect completed work for coverage, consistency, durability, and appearance.
• Complete touch-ups or corrections when needed.
• Maintain a high standard of workmanship from start to finish.

THIS IS A ROVING POSITION

This is not a position assigned to one apartment community .

You'll travel throughout the Orange County and Long Beach region to complete scheduled refinishing projects at multiple Pan American Properties communities.

Because regular travel between properties is an essential part of the position, candidates must have:

• A valid California driver's license
• Current, valid automobile insurance
• Reliable personal transportation available for work-related travel

You should be comfortable independently traveling between assigned properties and managing your workday across multiple locations.

TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION

Our maintenance operations rely on technology to coordinate work across multiple properties. You don't need to be a technology expert, but you do need to be comfortable using a smartphone and learning the systems we use.

You will be expected to:

• Receive, review, and update assigned work orders electronically.
• Use mobile applications and company systems to document job progress and completion.
• Communicate with Supervisors, Dispatch, Property Management, and other team members throughout the workday.
• Provide timely updates regarding job status, material needs, delays, or additional repairs identified.
• Follow electronic schedules, work orders, and company procedures.
• Communicate professionally with residents and property staff when working in occupied homes.

⭐ WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We're especially interested in candidates with hands-on experience involving:

• Bathtub reglazing or refinishing
• Tile and shower surround refinishing
• Countertop or vanity resurfacing
• Fiberglass and acrylic repair
• Surface preparation and repair
• Sanding, masking, priming, and coating application
• Spray or other professional refinishing application methods
• Color and finish matching
• Residential, apartment, multifamily, renovation, or turnover work

Previous professional tub, tile, countertop, fiberglass, acrylic, or surface refinishing experience is strongly preferred .

SAFETY MATTERS

Refinishing work involves coatings, solvents, chemicals, fumes, and other materials that must be handled properly.

You must be willing and able to:

• Follow all company and workplace safety procedures.
• Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Safely handle and use coatings, chemicals, solvents, and refinishing products.
• Follow required ventilation and hazardous-material procedures.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas.
• Follow manufacturer instructions and safety requirements for the products and equipment you use.

PHYSICAL & WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

This is an active, hands-on position. Candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the role, including:

• Frequently standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, and climbing stairs.
• Working in bathrooms, kitchens, and other smaller or confined work areas.
• Frequently using hands and fingers for detailed preparation, repair, and finishing work.
• Lifting and carrying tools, equipment, and materials weighing up to 50 pounds .
• Performing detailed work requiring close vision, color recognition, depth perception, and focus.
• Regularly driving between assigned apartment communities.
• Working in both occupied and vacant apartment units.
• Working around dust, fumes, odors, coatings, solvents, and other refinishing materials while utilizing required safety precautions and PPE.

✅ MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Previous tub, tile, countertop, fiberglass, acrylic, reglazing, resurfacing, or related surface refinishing experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Ability to independently manage assigned jobs and work efficiently.
• Ability to communicate professionally with residents, property teams, Dispatch, and Supervisors.
• Comfortable using a smartphone and technology for communication and work-order management.
• Must be able to speak, write, and understand conversational English.
• Reliable personal transportation.
• Valid California driver's license.
• Valid proof of automobile insurance.
• Must be fully authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
• Ability to successfully complete all required pre-employment screening*

COMPENSATION

$25.00–$34.00 per hour

Starting pay within the posted range will be based on relevant experience, demonstrated refinishing skills, technical knowledge, and overall qualifications.
