Job Description

The   Retail Merchandising & Receiving Associate   plays an essential role in creating an organized, fully stocked, and visually appealing shopping experience at Piccadilly Market. This position is responsible for receiving and organizing incoming inventory, stocking merchandise, maintaining attractive displays, rotating product, and ensuring shelves are clean, full, and guest-ready throughout the day.

Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for creating an exceptional retail experience. Essential Responsibilities

Receiving & Inventory

• Receive and verify incoming deliveries for accuracy and quality.
• Organize backstock and storage areas to maximize efficiency and accessibility.
• Label, rotate, and store products using FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory practices.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate low stock, damaged products, or discrepancies to management.
• Maintain clean, organized receiving and storage areas.
• Assist with inventory counts and periodic audits.

Merchandising & Stocking

• Stock shelves, coolers, and displays while maintaining attractive product presentation.
• Build and refresh seasonal, promotional, and featured merchandise displays.
• Ensure products are properly signed, priced, and merchandised according to company standards.
• Rotate merchandise, monitor expiration dates, and remove damaged or outdated products.
• Continuously recover and straighten sales floor displays to maintain a polished shopping environment.
• Support product resets and merchandising updates as needed.

Store Operations

• Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming market environment.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and safety procedures.
• Assist guests by answering questions, locating products, and providing friendly, knowledgeable service.
• Collaborate with team members across departments to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Support additional operational needs as assigned, including light café or register support when needed.

Qualifications

• Previous retail, grocery, hospitality, or receiving experience.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable working independently while contributing to a team.
• Positive attitude with a strong work ethic and dependable attendance.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members, vendors, and guests.
• Basic math and inventory management skills are a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach throughout an entire shift.
• Comfortable working in refrigerated storage areas and walk-in coolers as needed.
• Ability to move carts, cases, and merchandise safely throughout the market.
