Job Description

Location: HFW Cardiology Brownstown | 23050 West Road Suite 120 Brownstown Twp, MI 48183

Status: Full-Time | Days

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Setting: 50% Inpatient, 50% Outpatient

Call/Weekends: No Call. Weekend coverage – no more than one weekend per month

What You Will Do

• Evaluate and treat inpatient and outpatient cardiovascular medicine patients under the direction of the cardiologist, providing comprehensive clinical care across both settings.
• Dedicate 50% of your time to inpatient consults and follow-up patients, with 2-3 inpatient follow-up clinics scheduled per week, ensuring continuity of care for hospitalized patients.
• Dedicate 50% of your time to outpatient cardiovascular medicine, delivering diagnostic and therapeutic services in the clinic setting.
• Become a diagnostic detective! Assess, diagnose, and treat patients with various cardiovascular conditions—no two days are exactly alike, and that's what makes this role exciting.
• Be the patient whisperer. Educate patients and their families about their medical conditions and care plans in a way that actually makes sense (and maybe even makes them smile).
• Lead the collaboration station. Work hand-in-hand with attending physicians, consultants, and your healthcare dream team to deliver optimal patient outcomes—because great care happens when everyone's on the same page.
• Master your craft. Perform specialized procedures within your credentialing and experience level, continuously expanding your clinical toolkit.
• Connect the dots. Seamlessly coordinate care across inpatient and outpatient settings, ensuring patients receive consistent, comprehensive support every step of the way.
• Provide back-up support to other Advanced Practice Providers, contributing to team coverage and operational continuity.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of cardiology experience, both inpatient and outpatient settings (preferred)
• NP or PA graduate from an accredited program
• Current Michigan licensure
• National certification (ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA)
• ACLS / BLS / DEA

Education & Training

• Nurse Practitioner (NP): Completion of a Nurse Practitioner program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC)
• Physician Assistant (PA): Completion of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA)

Licensure

• Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant in the State of Michigan, or in the process of applying (proof of application required)

Certification

• NP: National certification by a certification body recognized by the State of Michigan (e.g., ANCC, AANP)
• PA: Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)

Required Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) – required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – required (may be obtained after hire)

DEA / Controlled Substance Licensure

• PA: DEA and Michigan Controlled Substance License (CSL) required through credentialing
• NP: DEA registration required through credentialing; NPs do not hold a Michigan CSL and will use their Michigan license number during the application process
