Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Specialty: General Nursing (Outpatient, Inpatient, ER, Community Health)

Site: Pinon Health Center



Location: 2175 State Road 4, Pinon, AZ 86510 (Primary Duty Location)

Services will also be required at:

Site: Chinle Comprehensive Health Care Facility

Location: Highway 191, Hospital Drive, Chinle, AZ 86503

Duration: 1-year contract with possible extension up to 6 months

Shift Schedule:

• 40 hours/week (primarily Monday Friday)
• Rotational coverage:
  • Outpatient clinics
  • ER / inpatient as needed
• Occasional overtime and weekend shifts based on patient load

How many shifts needed per month: ~20 shifts/month (based on 40 hrs/week)

Credentialing / Onboarding time: 6 8 weeks

License: Any active U.S. state LPN license accepted

Certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Required

Experience needed:

• Minimum 3 years of LPN experience
• At least 1 year in specialty (ER or acute care preferred)

Special Skills needed:

• Ability to work in rural/low-resource settings
• Strong triage and patient assessment skills
• Familiarity with inpatient, outpatient, and emergency care
• Cultural sensitivity (Native American populations)
• Basic computer/EHR skills

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care across outpatient, inpatient, ER, and community settings
• Perform patient assessments and implement care plans
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and treatments
• Assist in procedures and emergency interventions
• Educate patients and families on treatment and preventive care
• Maintain accurate medical documentation per IHS and federal standards
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, safety, and regulatory standards

Misc:

• Non-personal services contract (independent contractor role)
• Work may involve floating between departments and facilities
• Exposure to diverse patient population in tribal healthcare system
