Job Description

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures for the mobile power generation company
  • Monitor and inspect the work environment to ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Investigate and document any safety incidents or accidents
  • Provide safety training to employees and contractors
  • Develop and maintain safety records and reports
  • Monitor and inspect the use of personal protective equipment
  • Ensure that all safety equipment is in good working order
  • Develop and implement emergency response plans
  • Monitor and inspect the use of hazardous materials
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections
  • Develop and implement safety awareness programs
  • Monitor and inspect the use of power generation equipment
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations
  • Respond to safety-related inquiries from employees and contractors

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proven experience as safety officer
  • In depth knowledge of legislation (e.g. OSHA/EPA) and procedures
  • Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices
  • Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety
  • Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
  • Proficient in MS Office; Working knowledge of safety management information systems is a plus
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Diligent with great attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety topics
  • Certificate in occupational health and safety

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times. 
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
  • Poses an active and current driver’s license.
  • Must be willing to travel.

Work Schedule:

  • On average 12 hour shift 
  • 2 weeks on/2 weeks off
