Seattle Academy is seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Financial Literacy Teacher to join our Upper School faculty for the 2026-2027academic year. We are looking for an educator who is passionate about equipping students with the financial skills and economic understanding necessary for success in the real world.   

The ideal candidate will have teaching experience and a strong foundation in economics, personal finance, investment strategies, and the social impacts of financial systems. We welcome applicants who bring relevant professional experience in finance, business, banking, or related fields, even if their background is not rooted in traditional classroom teaching. Full-time faculty at Seattle Academy typically teach five (5) classes and carry additional supervisory or advisory responsibilities as assigned.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Designing and delivering engaging courses in financial literacy, including topics such as budgeting, saving, investing, credit management, taxes, and financial planning.
  • Promoting an understanding of ethical financial decision-making, economic systems, and the social impact of financial choices.
  • Using project-based learning to create authentic, real-world applications of financial concepts.
  • Differentiating instruction to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of students.
  • Fostering critical thinking and problem-solving through student-centered activities and discussions.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and developmentally appropriate financial education program across grade levels.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience teaching financial literacy, economics, or related subjects;
  • Familiarity with or interest in curriculum development focused on personal finance and investing;
  • Background in project-based learning and differentiated instruction.
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to fostering an inclusive and engaging classroom environment.
