The Construction Commissioning & Startup Operations Director is responsible for overseeing commissioning operations within construction services. This role includes leadership responsibilities, coordination of field and office activities, and adherence to safety and compliance requirements.
• Sets strategic direction for all non-substation startup and commissioning procects worldwide and is process owner for all related policies and procedures.
• Prioritizes activities of startup staff.
• Monitors and reviews startup and commissioning programs across all sectors and makes necessary revisions to program as required.
• Develops and maintains a detailed startup schedule and detailed set of startup packages to track startup completion and progress.
• Maintains open communications and relationships with clients.
• Adheres to safety and quality standards as applicable for duties and accountabilities.
• Identifies and assesses standardization across function and champions continuous improvement efforts.
• Assesses and supports change management effects associated with the implementation of improvements
• Acts as key salesperson and project manager for all startup-only work.
• Department Head responsibilities, including sponsorship of BV and Construction programs and initiatives (i.e. EDGE, construction onboarding, etc.)
• MBA/Graduate degree or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated experience in a direct hire construction environment.
• Proven ability to communicate with and lead a diverse workforce, including field professionals and highly technical SMEs.
• Strong industry knowledge including startup guidelines, construction contracting, project instructions manual, etc.
• Advanced project management skills.
• 12 years' experience in commissioning management, construction operations, or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Deep understanding of plant operating philosophy and startup sequence of events.
• Knowledge of managing staff to comply with the applicable safety manuals and BV safety and health program and policies.
• Ability to maintain strong relationships and develops a high level of trust and credibility with key clients and project teams.
